Kenneth L. McMurdy
Kenneth Lee McMurdy Sr., 50, of Worth Township died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday at his home.
He was born Sept. 22, 1957, in Ellwood City, the son of John Samuel McMurdy and Leora Ida Knight McMurdy.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Sue Beachem of Worth Township, whom he married Oct. 8, 1977.
A 1977 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he was a Worth Township supervisor and also was the road master for the township.
He was a member of the Butler County Law Enforcement Association and a former member of the Western Pennsylvania Antique Tractor Pullers Association.
He loved spending time with his grandson, Dylan. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping and riding four-wheelers and snow mobiles.
He was a Presbyterian.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Lee McMurdy Jr. and his wife, Kellie, of West Sunbury and Brian Lee McMurdy of Slippery Rock; one daughter, Tiffany Ann McMurdy of Slippery Rock; one brother, John Robert McMurdy and his wife, Sue, of Prospect; two sisters, Bonnie Jean Lesnett and her husband, Roy Jr. of New Castle, and Linda Lou Dickey of Mercer; and his grandson, Dylan McMurdy of West Sunbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Clair.
<B>MCMURDY</B> —<B> </B>Friends of Kenneth Lee McMurdy Sr., who died Sunday, May 18, 2008, will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Mount Union Cemetery, Worth Township.
