Sara L. Choura

Sara L. Choura, 86, of Butler, formerly of Van Buren Street, Evans City, died Friday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in West Deer Township on Aug. 26, 1921, she was the daughter of Paul B. and Bertha Campbell Gray.

She attended the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church. She had been a secretary for Halstead Industries in Zelienople.

Mrs. Choura enjoyed bingo and was a "500"card club player. She was a former bowler at Evans City Lanes and Freeway Lanes in Zelienople.

Surviving are a son, Charles Choura and his wife, Barbara, of Zelienople; a daughter, Phyllis Turner and her husband, Emil, of Evans City; a sister, Lois Nicklas of Evans City; four brothers, Barton Gray, Merle Gray of Butler, Stanley Gray of Georgia, and Lawrence Gray of Florida. She also is survived by six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Choura, whom she married June 24, 1940, and who died May 23, 1997; two brothers, and four sisters.
