Betty A. Risch, 87, of Buffalo Township died at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday in the company of her family members at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Jefferson Township.

Mrs. Risch was born in California, Pa. on July 22, 1920, the daughter of Hugh and Elizabeth Gaines. She was the widow of Ralph M. "Red" Risch, who died in 2005.

Betty and her husband Red owned and operated Risch's Supermarket in Buffalo Township for 60 years. She enjoyed working and talking to all the people who came into the family grocery store.

She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Buffalo Township.

She had been a member of the Eastern Star 453 since 1961.

Mrs. Risch is survived by her son, Gary Risch Sr. and his wife, Diana; her daughter, Robin Fletcher, and her husband, Robert; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Leah, all of Buffalo Township.

Also surviving are her sister, Jackie Evans, and her husband, Mike, of Indianola; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Risch was preceded by a son, Hugh Leah; a sister, Norma Conte; and a brother, James Leckie.

<B>RISCH</B> — At the family's request, there will be no public visitation for Betty A. Risch, who died Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
