Margaret H. Winslow

Margaret H. Winslow, 101, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Indiana, Pa., died Monday.

Born in Parker on Nov. 15, 1906, she was the daughter of Frank and Merta Hamilton.

She graduated from Allegheny College with a degree in English literature and studied organ at Monmouth College in Illinois, where she performed a solo recital.

She taught at East Brady High School for three years before moving to Indiana to raise her three children and started teaching at United High School in Armagh, where she taught English and journalism for 18 years.

She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority as well as a member of Delta Kappa Gamma for women educators.

She is survived by two daughters, Eleanor Dearolph and her husband, Edward, of Atlanta, and Janet Taylor and her husband, Donald, of South Park Township; a son, John Winslow, and his wife, Bonnie, of South Park Township; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Lila Roland Hamilton.

<B>WINSLOW </B>—<B> </B>A private family service will be Thursday for Margaret Winslow, who died Monday, May 12, 2008, at the <B>H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME</B> in Parker.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
