Richard H. Wahl
Richard H. Wahl, beloved husband of Elsie M. Wahl of Zelienople, died Sunday at UPMCPassavant Hospital.
Born Feb. 7, 1935, in Harmony, Ga., he was the son of Clara A. YoungbloodWahl Hager.
Mr. Wahl was a retired self-employed cleaning contractor of several post offices. He also worked at Lava Crucible Refractories and as a construction worker for years.
He was a member of the Zelienople Church of the Nazarene. He loved to hunt, fish and travel with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elsie Myers Wahl; a son, Richard William Wahl and his wife, Carol, of Zelienople; a daughter, Rose Marie Barkley and her husband, Loyd Ray, of Fombell; five grandchildren, Eli Wahl and his wife, Julie, Moses Wahl and his wife, Ashley, Ryan Sue Wahl, Jodie Barkley Gillespie and her husband, Shawn, and AmandaBarkley Johnson and her husband, Steven; and eight great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Loyd G. Wahl of Zelienople, William Wahl of Pittsburgh, Samuel Wahl of Maryland, and James Wahl of Evans City; two sisters, Sister Christopher Wahl of Florida, and Loretta Wahl Nicodemus of Portersville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, James L. Wahl; his mother, Clara; his stepfather, John Frank Hager; four brothers, Herman J. Wahl, Charles Wahl, Roy L. Wahl, and an infant brother.
