Henry J. Monday Sr.
Henry J. Monday Sr., 81, of Butler passed away Sunday at his residence after a lingering illness.
Born in Butler on Sept. 6, 1926, he was the son of the late Tony and Angelina Mariano Monday Sr.
He, along with his brothers and his father, owned Monday's Shoes. He had been a partner for more than 60 years.
Henry was a man devoted to his wife, his family and his work. He was one of a kind.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marina Pasquinelli Monday; a son, Henry Monday Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Fenelton; two daughters, Nancy Monday-Yates and her husband, Kevin, of Butler and Toni Lee Price and her husband, Roger, of Franklin Park; six grandsons; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; two brothers, Tony Monday Jr. and Nicholas Monday, both of Butler; a sister, Mary Baccari of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
<B>MONDAY</B> — Friends of Henry J. Monday Sr., who died Sunday, March 2, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the St. Michael Cemetery.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will conduct a scriptural wake service at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Butler VNA Hospice Special Care Team.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
