Max G. Rein

Max G. Rein, 85, of Easton, Md., formerly of Pine Township, died Wednesday at the Charlotte Hall Veteran's Home in Charlotte Hall, Md.

Born Sept. 23, 1921, in Hamburg, Germany, he was the son of Emanuel Wolfgang and Margaretta Edigkaufer Rein.

In 1939, he immigrated to the United States. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a recipient of two bronze stars.

Mr. Rein was a member of the Warrendale and the Northside Sportsmen's clubs, the Talbot Rod and Gun Club and the National Rifle Association.

He also was a Pine Township commissioner, a Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Honorary and an Interstate Commerce Commission Practitioner. He was a fisherman, a photographer and music lover. Above all, he was a businessman, gentleman and a dear friend who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He was the loving father of Diana Rein and her partner, J. Ronald Finn, of Easton, Md., Clifford (Adesha) Rein of Point Roberts, Wash., Roland (Robin) Rein of Fairmont, W.Va., and Victoria (Noble Jr.) Bowie of Port Orange, Fla.; stepgrandfather of Drew Bowie of Severna Park, Md.; and dear cousin of Lore Oppenheimer of New York. N.Y., Ursula and Wolfram Langenbuch of Germany and Max Kresse of Australia.

He was the beloved husband of the late Amelia M. Rein. He also was preceded in death by a son, Mark Rein.

<B>REIN</B> — Friends of Max G. Rein, who died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Richard Church with the Rev. Kenneth Oldenski as celebrant.
