Hilliard

Harriette E. Hilliard, 97, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Lowrie House in Butler Township.

Born Aug. 31, 1909, in Butler, she was the daughter of Henry T. and Lizzie A. Kammerer Turner.

She was a graduate of Butler High School and Slippery Rock State Teachers College.

Mrs. Hilliard was a member of St. John's Reformed Church in Butler Township, where she sang in the choir. She also sang in the community choir and was a 79-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 45.

She was a homemaker, was active with Girl Scouts and liked to spend the winter months in Arizona. She also liked to collect rocks and semi -precious stones and make jewelry.

Her husband, Walter Hilliard, died June 15, 1982.

Surviving are a son, David H. Hilliard of Butler; two daughters, Marilyn M. Hilliard of Butler and Jayne E. Swensen of Santa Rosa, Calif.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
