William Walter Bittner Jr., 91, of Hampton Township died Monday.

Born Aug. 18, 1915, in McKees Rocks, he was the son of William W. Sr. and Anna DeJohn Bittner.

He had been a service manager and retired in 1980 from Litton Industries in Butler.

Mr. Bittner was a member of Hampton Presbyterian Church in Hampton Township since 1950 and served as a deacon, elder and Sunday school superintendent.

He was a World War II Army veteran, attained the rank of staff sergeant and participated in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign and the Battle of the Bulge.

He is survived by his wife, Grace D. Marion Bittner, whom he married Aug. 24, 1940; two sons, William W. (Deborah) Bittner of North Carolina and David D. Bittner; a sister, Catherine Franciscus of Pittsburgh; and grandchildren Alycia N. and Adrian D. (Julie) Bittner.
