Robert T. Adams, 86, of 26 McChesney Way in Grove City, formerly of Leesburg, Fla., died at 11:45 p.m. Monday at Grove City Medical Center after a three-week illness.

Born in Butler, May 27, 1920, he was the son of Samuel Ray and Pearl Myrtle Sutton Adams.

He received his bachelor's degree from California (Pa.) University and his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and he retired in 1976 as principal at Worthington High School. He formerly had been the assistant principal at Kittanning High School and a teacher at Ford City High School.

Mr. Adams was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Fla. and attended Fairview United Presbyterian Church in Fairview. He also was a member of a saddle club and the Tennessee Walkers club.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

Surviving are three children, David Adams of Grove City, Daniel Allen Adams of Lanse, Clearfield County, and Heather Ann Thames of Collegeville, Montgomery County; two brothers, Glenn C. Adams of Harrisville and Dean R. Adams of Karns City; and six grandchildren.

His wife, Mary Elizabeth Smith Adams, whom he married Dec. 27, 1949, died Aug. 27, 2000. A sister also preceded him in death.

<B>ADAMS </B>— Friends of Robert T. Adams, who died Monday, March 5, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Rowe, retired pastor of Fairview United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
