Dudley D. "Red"August, 90, of Williams Road, Portersville, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of his niece in Portersville.

He is formerly of Grove City, Lake Latonka and Ft. Myers in Florida.

Born Dec. 15, 1916, in Franklin, he was the son of Dudley Fenn and Daisey Pearl Day August.

He was a graduate of Youngstown High School, Youngstown, Ohio; the University of California in California, and he attended Toccoa Bible College in Georgia.

He was an engineer and an executive with Alcoa for more than 25 years.

Mr. August was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army.

He was a Protestant.

Surviving are a niece, Paula V. Good and her husband, Terry D., of Portersville; two nephews, Mitchell F. Book and his wife, Brenda, of Winona Lake, Ind., and Martin J. Book and his wife, Ruth, of Sringfield, Ohio; and several great nieces and nephews.

He married Victoria C. Carrarra on June 23, 1973, and she died Sept. 12, 2006. He also was preceded in death by two brothers.
