Parking

I don't see where Marcia ever made reference to PUBIC parking. Nor do I see where she advises anyone to undergo anger management therapy. Maybe the tone was a bit exercised, but I think the point is that public parking is just that - public parking, free for anyone. If you want to bar others from parking, you have to buy some private property, and then you have the right to tell others not o trespass. But if you live on a street that allows curbside parking, anyone has the right to park a legal vehicle right smack dab in front of you house, like it or not, period. You do not have the right to ask someone to move, no matter how politely. Sure, if there's a wide-open street and you have a jerk who goes out of his own way to inconvenience both of you by parking in front of your house and away from his own, then that person is just abusing his rights in order to harass, and isn't worthy of a defense here. There is an ongoing problem in many cities with people who have a strange, emotional reaction to seeing someone else's car in what they (wrongly) perceive to be "their" space. Terrible acts of violence have been committed over parking, and it's inexcusable. So once and for all, we need some tolerance here. A person who parks a legal vehicle in a legal space should not be imposed upon by others just because they don't like looking at someone else's car.
