Handling of USS Lincoln unacceptable
How dare President Donald Trump say a 250-day deployment for sailors and Marines aboard the USS Lincoln carrier group “is not nearly long enough.” I would love to see Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth aboard that ship for that length of time under those conditions (sailors’ quarters — not officers’).
Neither of them in all their press briefings admitted that the main supply depot in Bahrain was bombed in the first days of the war. There was no planning for the possibility and no mention of that on the evening news.
During Vietnam, carriers and escorts had port calls every 30 to 45 days to rest, resupply and repair broken equipment. The Lincoln could not do any of those.
How many times have we been told by Trump and Hegseth that “we won this war”? But we are still there, our brave sailors and soldiers are still being killed, the Strait of Hormuz is still closed and the prices of everything Americans buy is still going up — despite what Trump says. When was the last time he went to Walmart to buy food or gas?
Wake up, America, and “remember in November.”
