The Northern Steel Lancers U-16 boys soccer team finished with a 1-2-1 record at the Memorial Day Shootout Tournament in Erie.

In a 4-2 loss to Niagara Falls, Kevin Berlin and Pat Kelly accounted for the Lancers' goals.

In a 2-all game against the Toledo Celtics, Todd Pindroh scored both goals while a 4-1 win over Summit had goals by Pindroh, Michael Shoemaker, Bob McKinney and Ryan Patrina.

Against the Erie Admirals, Todd Pindroh scored the Lancers' lone goal.

U-14 BoysNorthern Steel tied the Greece Buccaneers of Rochester, N.Y., 0-0, then lost to Buffalo United.In their third game, they tied the Internationals 1-1, with Ryan Hyatt (Slippery Rock) scoring off an assist by Mark Zindren.

U-12 BoysNorthern Steel went 1-1-1 in its Memorial Day Tournament. They tied the Center Soccer Association 1-1, with the goal coming from Kyle Terrill, then lost to the Internationals 3-1. Johnny Fennick scored for Northern Steel, assisted by Ethan McCarthy.In a 5-0 triumph over Richmond Hill, Ontario, David Hidinger (Freeport) scored three goals while Evan McGarvey (Chicora) and Andrew Johnston (Chicora). Terrill had four assists and Mark Bleggi one assist.

U-13 GirlsCarly Deskins scored Northern Steel's only goal in its 3-1 loss to Erin Mills Eagles. Tori Ruth scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over the Pittsburgh Strikers.In the third game, the Internationals prevailed 3-1, with Laura Elliott scoring for Northern Steel.In other action:• Samuel Klever scored two goals as the Prospect Predators ended their season with an 8-0 win over Prospect P2.Dominic Artzberger, Hannah Elliot, Josh Jones, Hunter Brandenburg, Karissa Kinser and Megan Stephenson each scored a goal in the victory.
