5:47 p.m. Thursday - Timothy Gerhold, 27, of 233½ W. Brady St. was arrested after allegedly breaking into a West Penn Street home. A neighbor reported seeing Gerhold break into the home; however, he left without taking anything. Gerhold was arraigned on burglary and criminal mischief charges, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $1,000 bond.1:24 p.m. Wednesday - Cars driven by Richard Palace, 71, and Jessica Criley, 23, both of Butler, collided at East Wayne and South McKean streets. Palace was cited for a traffic signal violation.
Monday - Charges of burglary, trespass and criminal mischief were filed against Cynthia Wigton, 41, of Flower Avenue, Grove City, stemming from the August break-in of a Bessemer Avenue home.Sunday - Police are investigating the attempted break-in of several cars in the 100 block of Monroe and Penn streets between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
9:53 a.m. Monday - The owner of Rambo Welding, 250 Mercer St., Harmony, reported two of his vehicles were vandalized sometime overnight. One truck had its windshield and two side windows smashed while the other truck had a side window broken and the hood left opened. Estimated damage to both vehicles was $800.8:20 a.m. Monday - Someone overnight broke into the former Resolite site at 100 Perry Highway, using bolt cutters to get into the locked building. Stolen were ladders and construction tools, owned by David Arlia of Pittsburgh, a contractor working at the site.10:01 a.m. Saturday - Michael Ruperto, 34, of Portersville was attempting to leave a Route 19 car wash when his vehicle hit an ice patch and skidded onto the road. Alice Johnson, 50, of Harmony swerved her vehicle to avoid Ruperto's car, causing her vehicle to hit an embankment and flip onto its roof.2:16 p.m. Jan. 28 - A vehicle driven by Joy Terry, no age given, of Jackson Township crashed after skidding on an ice patch on Toll Gate Road. Terry was treated for unknown injuries at UPMC Passavant Cranberry.3:49 p.m. Jan. 27 - Cars driven by Jessica Weingartner, 19, of Jackson Township and Dorinda Alexander, 45, of Bethlehem, Lehigh County, collided on Route 19 near the entrance of the Burger King restaurant.Alexander was taken to Allegheny General Hospital while Wingartner was treated at UPMC Passavant Cranberry. The extent of the women's injuries were not known.4:10 p.m. Jan. 24 - A Kubota tractor valued at $9,591 and a Kubota loader valued at $2,214 were reported taken from Smardt Equipment on Perry Highway.2:11 p.m. Jan. 23 - A car driven by Ashley Jo Zinkhann, 18, of Evans City skidded on an ice patch on Route 19 near Lindsay Road and struck the median barrier. Zinkhann and Ryan Patrick Bradley, 25, of Zelienople, a passenger in the car, suffered minor injuries in the crash.12:12 p.m. Jan. 23 - A car driven by Donald Blahover, 51, of Jackson Township skidded on an ice patch on Route 19 near Lindsay Road and struck a guard rail.10:21 a.m. Jan. 22 - Gerald Sadler II said someone broke into two vehicles at his Wahl Road home and took an undetermined amount of coins from each vehicle.10 a.m. Jan. 21 - James Allman, owner of a masonry company, reported several heaters were taken from a construction site at the old Resolite plant on Perry Highway. Allman told police that tools and other items valued at about $1,000 were previously taken during the past month.
11:36 p.m. Thursday - Justin P. Warner, 22, of Parker was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck struck a tree along Medical Center Road in Donegal Township. Warner, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.11:30 a.m. Thursday - A car driven by Stephen Antanitis, no age given, of Valencia struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Kreiss Road in Connoquenessing Township.8:15 p.m. Wednesday - Joseph Bernard Gallagher, 23, of Chicora was arrested after allegedly altering a $40 check he had received for plowing the driveway of a Chicora man, and using the check to buy a 20-inch chain saw at the Sears store, Clearview Mall in Center Township. The chin saw sold for $354.99.Gallagher was arraigned on two counts of theft by deception and forgery, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $7,000 bond.Monday - Numerous items including money and compact discs were taken between 2:45 p.m. Sunday and 11:30 a.m. Monday in a burglary at the Hawk Drive home of Linda Oesterling in Connoquenessing Township.
