2:28 a.m. Saturday - William Bonilla, 21, of 338 Second St. was charged with simple assault following a fight outside the Checkered Flag on Monroe Street.He got into an altercation in the bar with three people and had to be forcefully taken outside. Bonilla then pounded on the door of the bar for about 15 minutes before he finally leftLater those three people came outside and Bonilla came running from across the street with a bat in his hand and hit one man in the back.Bonilla, who was held until the police arrived, was on probation. He is in the Butler County Prison.7:19 p.m. Friday - A 16-year old female was charged with retail theft after she tried to leave the Rite-Aid on South Main Street without paying for $15 worth of merchandise.3:15 a.m. Friday - Herbert Hatfield, 24, no known address, was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Broad Street.An officer saw Hatfield drive through several stop signs and stops lights and followed his car. The officer pulled Hatfield over by the Broad Street Elementary School when Hatfield left his car and started to run. Police found him hiding under stairs at the school.While taking him into custody they also found a rock of crack cocaine which Hatfield admitted was his.A probation officer was called and took Hatfield into custody. He is in the Butler County Prison.9 p.m. Thursday - Deborah Alvino, no age given, of 340 Virginia Ave. was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Pillow Street. She is also charged with having no insurance, expired registration and driving on the wrong side of the street.
12:15 a.m. Friday - Two Grove City men were arrested early Friday morning after they tried to steal merchandise from the Sheetz at 100 Freeport Road in Butler Township.Micah Olson-Sawyer, 25, was arrested and charged with a protection from abuse violation and possession of drug paraphernalia.Randy Reed, 28, was charged with retail theft, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after he tried to steal two magazine, a package of Ho-Ho's and a bag of peanuts.Both men were arraigned by District Justice Joseph O'Donnell and were placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bond each. Olson-Sawyer was released on bail while Reed is still in jail.
