[naviga:h3]Grove City gridders get PAC honors[/naviga:h3]

GROVE CITY — Grove City College freshman receiver Cody Gustafson has been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year, the first Wolverine to ever earn that award.

Gustafson caught 58 passes for 815 yards and five touchdowns.

Senior guard Daniel Sedjo and defensive end Jacob Armbrecht made second team All-PAC. Karns City graduate and junior safety Ed Conto was among eight Wolverines receiving honorable mention.

Conto was second on the team with 64 tackles. He also forced two fumbles and had an interception.

[naviga:h3]SRU kicker Chapla nets PSAC award[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University sophomore kicker-punter Jake Chapla has been named PSAC West Special Teams Player of the Week.

Chapla booted field goals of 30 and 31 yards, was 4-for-4 on PATs and landed three punts inside the 20-yard line in The Rock’s 42-34 loss at Kutztown.
