[naviga:h2]Mars grad Eperesi Player of Week[/naviga:h2]

INDIANA — Mars graduate Matt Eperesi, a senior catcher at Indiana (Pa.) University, has been named PSAC West Athlete of the Week in baseball.

Eperesi hit .545 last week (6 for 11) with a 1.000 slugging percentage, three RBIs and three runs scored. Five of his hits were doubles.

Eperesi is hitting .275 for the season with three homers and 17 RBI.

[naviga:h2]Butler grad Allen earns awards[/naviga:h2]

ERIE — Butler graduate and Penn State Behrend senior track and field standout Paige Allen has received the school’s Cheryl Ramsdell-Anderson Female Athlete of the Year Award.

She also received the Faculty Athletic Council Service Award for the student-athlete most dedicated to service at Penn State Behrend.

[naviga:h2]Butler’s Daugherty All-PSAC West[/naviga:h2]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Butler graduate and Slippery Rock University sophomore relief pitcher Wyatt Daugherty is among five SRU baseball players named first team All-PSAC West this season.

Daugherty is 2-1 with a 2.57 earned run average this season, compiling 34 strikeouts in 28 innings.

Joining him on the all-conference team are catcher Tyler Walters (10 homers, 55 RBI), outfielder Lucas Fuscardo (.413 batting average), pitcher Alex Pantuso (5-1, 3.40) and DH Christian Porterfield (.368, 8 HR).

Rock pitcher Preston Falascino (seven wins, 52 strikeouts) made second team.

SRU began PSAC Tournament play this morning against Shippensburg.
