The Butler YMCA swim team completed a perfect 6-0 dual meet season recently with a victory over Laurel Highland YMCA.

Butler won seven of the 10 age groups.

The Senior Boys (ages 15-18) medley relay team of Ryan Deemer, Ian Lindsey, Noah Donovan and Austin Wittmer broke the Butler High School pool record with a time of one minute, 41.25 seconds. North Allegheny set the previous mark in 2007.

The Junior Girls (13-14) medley and freestyle relay teams of Camryn Forbes, Abbie Jones, Meredith Cummings and Jill McElhaney improved both of their team records with times of 1:53.38 and 1:41.76, respectively.

Butler has more than 70 swimmers qualified for the Western Pennsylvania YMCA Districts Swimming Championship March 8-10 at Youngstown State University.

Girls Basketball

Butler Catholic 45, Alpha Eagles 24 — Sophia Wiest scored 16 points for the Saints with Emily Hegedus adding eight and Emily Peratt seven.

Butler Catholic 42, St. Alexis 5 — Hegedus scored 21 points for the Saints with Wiest adding eight.
