BC3 alumni distinguish themselves

3 honored for work, education

BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College recently named its 2010 Distinguished Alumni.

They are Ruby Watson Wilcosz, who lives and works in the Pittsburgh region, and Jacob Robinson and Dawn Wilson DePasquale, who live and work in the Washington, D.C., area.

• Wilcosz earned an associate degree in accounting in 1976. Today, she is the regional director for Volunteers of America’s Working Order program. Working Order is a small business incubator for entrepreneurs.

She is pursuing a degree in business management from LaRoche College.

• Robinson earned an associate degree in graphic design in 2005. In Washington, Robinson received a public art commission from the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency to design and build a memorial for the seven members of the agency who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the Pentagon. The memorial was installed and dedicated at DIA headquarters on Sept. 11, 2009.

Robinson is pursuing a bachelor’s in graphic design from the University of the District of Columbia and is employed at Classic Glass Inc., a decorative glass studio.

• DePasquale earned an associate degree in general studies in 1977. She is now chief learning officer at American University in Washington.

After graduation from BC3, she earned a bachelor’s in psychology from Grove City College, a master’s in student personnel administration from Slippery Rock and a doctorate in administration and policy studies from the University of Pittsburgh.

They were honored Oct. 16 at the Oak Hills Legacy dinner at BC3.
