Knoch approves 2026-27 budget, again
Knoch School District’s board once again approved its 2026-27 budget of $40.241 million and an accompanying 3.299 mill tax increase at a special voting meeting Monday, June 22, after previously passing it too quickly.
The meeting was held at 7 a.m. in the district’s central office after the board previously finalized the budget on June 3. However, the board did not wait a full 30 days after passing the preliminary budget in May and posting it for public display, as is law in Pennsylvania.
The budget and millage rate for 2026-27 remains the same as what was previously passed.
The millage rate is set at 97.5746, an increase of 3.5% — the maximum allowed for the district under the state’s Act 1 index for the year. The district has previously said the increase equates to roughly $69 more per year for a home assessed at the median value.
