Megan Coyer of Slippery Rock was recently awarded the William C. Rappolt '67 and Walter Oechsle '57 Neuroscience Prize at Lafayette College.A Marquis Scholar at Lafayette, she has been researching how hormones affect aggression in male zebra finches.

New Life Christian Ministries recently announced the recipients of the Margaret "Peg" Kier Memorial Scholarships.Recipients include<b>Erin Eidenshink, Mark Stenner</b> and <b>Emily Butler</b>.A student in the Mars School District, Eidenshink is a member of the Butler District Youth Council and the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference Youth Ministry Team. She has served at the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank Farm, in the after school program at Mars United Methodist Church and as a volunteer camp counselor at the Jumonville Christian Camp.A member of the National Honor Society, she has been accepted to Southern Methodist University.Also a student at Mars High School, Stenner is the president of the National Honor Society. He is a member of the Key Club and the class council and has participated in several school musicals. He is active in the East Liberty Soup Kitchen, performs in anti-drug skits, serves as a middle school mentor and performs in musical outreach programs.Stenner has been accepted to the Smeal College of Business at Penn State University.A Freeport High School student, Butler has served on the mission team at her church and is a youth group leader in the "Happening" Episcopal program. She is a member of her church's worship team and serves meals through the Shepherd's Heart program. She is a member of the Freeport Key Club, the Teens Against Tobacco Use organization and the Freeport National Honor Society, with whom she helped to raise funds for the tsunami relief effort. Butler plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh.
