Alicia Bergbigler, daughter of Eugene Bergbigler of Chicora, recently received the Who's Who Among American Nurses Award.A student at the University of Pittsburgh, she has also accepted membership into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the National Scholars honor society.The recipient of the Ladies Hospital Aid Society Endowed Fund Scholarship, she has also been named to the Dean's List at the University.———

Butler High School Students<b>Stefanie Cumberledge, Matthew Feder, Jennifer Hefferan, Elizabeth Keasey, Matthew Malecky, Warren Pryde, Sarah Schubert, Rachel Sutton</b> and <b>Christopher Wetzel</b> have been named commended students in the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program.The students scored in the top 5 percent of over one million scholarship applicants by taking the 2004 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.———

Butler High School graduate <b>Jonathan Kaltenbach</b> has been named an AP Scholar with Distinction by the College Board's Advanced Placement Program. Kaltenbach received perfect scores on each AP Exam taken.Eight Butler High School graduates qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by scoring an average grade of 3.25 on all AP Exams taken. They include <b>Nathan Achezinski, Zachary Best, Catherine Brown, Eric Clouse, Christopher Henry, Matthew Kalin, Raymond Melder</b> and <b>Raymond Reed</b>.Graduates <b>Christopher Erdos, Dominic Giallombardo, Jocelyn Kerr, Katie McKeever, Michael Motily, Luke Renwick </b>and <b>Ryan Walker</b> qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher.———

<b>Anne Wonsettler</b>, daughter of William and Lee Williams of Slippery Rock, has been chosen for a fall internship in the Office of International Affairs at Millersville University.She is a government and political affairs major at Millersville.———

<b>Kelly Smith</b>, daughter of Lynn Smith of Slippery Rock, has been awarded the William and Elizabeth Hart Scholarship and the Helen and Lawrence Smith Scholarship in Mathematics at Clarion University.A senior mathematics major, she is a graduate of Slippery Rock High School.———

<b>Halee Schnur</b>, daughter of Douglas and Mary Lynn Schnur of Chicora, was recently awarded the George B. Garbarino Scholarship at Clarion University.A junior secondary mathematics education major, she is a graduate of Butler High School.———

<b>Katie Neese</b>, daughter of David and Janice Neese of Valencia, recently received the Retail Management Scholarship at Clarion University.A senior marketing major, she is a graduate of Mars High School.———

Mars Area High School senior <b>Dan Klodowski</b> has been named a Commended Student in the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program.Klodowski placed among the top five percent of more than a million students that entered the 2006 competition by taking the 2004 PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.———

Mars High School senior <b>Eric Crowley</b> has been selected to receive Duquesne University's "Mind, Heart and Spirit" Award.Crowley, was among eight students in the tri-state area to receive the award, selected for his academic, athletic and personal accomplishments. He will receive a pair of tickets to a Steelers home game, scoreboard recognition, and prizes from the Steelers and Duquesne University.Crowley will also be eligible to vie for a $26,000 Duquesne University Scholarship.———

Two Seneca Valley High School graduates and a senior have been named advanced placement scholars by the College Board in recognition of their achievement on the college-level AP Exams.<b>Michael Druschel</b> of Zelienople, a member of the Class of 2005, qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.<b>Valerie Boudreaux</b> of Cranberry Township, also a member of the Class of 2005, and<b>Eric Butler</b>, a Seneca Valley senior, qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Examinations, with grades of 3 or higher.
