The driver of an Ford F-150 pickup truck was taken to a hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries Thursday after a T-bone accident in Muddy Creek Township.

MUDDY CREEK TWP — Firefighters on Thursday had to cut open the windshield of a Ford F-150 pickup truck to help the driver get out after a T-bone crash.

The accident involving a Lexus sedan and the truck happened about 11:20 a.m. at the offramp from Interstate 79 north onto Route 488.

The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital in an ambulance to be checked for minor injuries.

A teenage girl and her brother were in the sedan. They complained of neck pain and headaches, but were not transported in an ambulance.

Matt Harrison, a captain with the Portersville Muddy Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department, said firefighters arrived to find the truck on its side partially on Route 488. They cut open the windshield so that the driver was able to safely climb out.

Witnesses reported seeing the truck driver roll through the stop sign at the end of the I-79 off ramp before he was hit by the car, which was driving westbound.

Both vehicles were towed, and traffic on Route 488 was restricted for about an hour.

Harmony EMS, Portersville Muddy Creek Township EMS and state police also responded.
