BlueSox box seats will cost $1 less

Box seats for Butler BlueSox games at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler will be a dollar cheaper this season.

The Butler Parks, Recreation, Grounds and Facilities Authority on Monday voted to lower the cost of box seat tickets from $7 to $6 and to have free admission for fans under 5 years old. General admission seat tickets will remain at $5.

In other business, the authority's Hall of Fame committee voted to make the late Leo Domachowski the first inductee into the Pullman Park Hall of Fame.

Domachowski, who died March 19, 2020, worked with the Butler Area Baseball Association as a coach, umpire and board of directors member for many years. He helped run concessions and league operations as a volunteer.

He will be recognized and a presentation will be made to members of his family at an upcoming BlueSox home game. The date hasn't been set.

Authority board members also voted to hire Craig and Company Accountants as a bookkeeping firm at a cost of $500 a month.Former Bookkeeper Aaron Bonus resigned in March.The board tabled voting on a renewal of a one-year, $1,400 heating, ventilation and air conditioning maintenance contract with Reno Bros. of Beaver County.The authority announced it is looking for people to sing the national anthem before home BlueSox games. Anyone interested should contact the authority through the Pullman Park website.A number of events have been scheduled at the stadium, including fireworks after the BlueSox home opener on June 2, which is also Butler Downtown Appreciation Night, and after the game on June 18, which is NexTier Bank Appreciation Night.
