Joanne R. Cranmer
Joanne R. Cranmer, 87, of Cabot, formerly of Butler, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 16, 1931, in Saxonburg, and was a daughter of the late Ira Burlbaugh and the late Goldie Walker Burlbaugh.
She graduated from Butler High School in 1949.
In her early years, Joanne worked as a secretary at an auto dealership and also a survey company. She was also a homemaker.
Joanne's beautiful voice was heard in church choir, weddings and the Tuesday Musical Club of Saxonburg. She studied voice with Ottalee Krueger in New Kensington.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 45 Butler Chapter, Butler County Republican Women, Gideon's Ladies Auxiliary of Butler, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Grove City 53 Chapter, the Butler Christian Women's Club and last but not least, Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church as a Sunday school teacher.
She was an accomplished past president of the Mount Chestnut Women's Club and past mother adviser for the Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Meridian Chapter.
Joanne is survived by her husband, John, whom she married on June 18, 1952; one daughter, Vickie (Bob) Zaccari of Valencia; one son, Eric (Andrea) Cranmer of Chicora; one daughter-in-law, Cheryll Cranmer of Butler; one granddaughter, Kristen Zaccari; five grandsons, Tyler Cranmer, Austin Cranmer, Brandon Cranmer, Adam Zaccari and Zachary Mayes; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ted B. Cranmer.
CRANMER — Friends of Joanne R. Cranmer, who died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Officers and members of Butler Chapter 45 Order of Eastern Star will conduct a service at 6:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 W. Old Route 422, Butler, with retired pastor, the Rev. Jeff Curtis, and the Rev.
