Francine LaVerne German, 79, of Stow, Ohio, formerly of Saxonburg, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026.

Born Sept. 10, 1946, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of Joseph Merlo and Pearl E. Jones Merlo.

Francine had worked as a surgery assistant for Allegheny Valley Hospital and also as a nanny. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church. Francine’s greatest love was taking care of her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, George F. German Jr., whom she married Sept. 18, 1965; her daughter, Rhonda L. (Jason) Larimore, of Stow, Ohio; one brother, Evan R. (Debbie) Merlo, of Natrona, Pa.; one sister, Roxanne (Gary) Schiele; and two grandchildren, Dylan (Michelle) and Emilee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, D’awn R. German; and two brothers, Greg Merlo and Joseph J. Merlo.

GERMAN — Friends of Francine LaVerne German, who died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Mount Airy Cemetery.
