State police alter policy on tattoos

Pennsylvania State Police are slightly altering their tattoo policy.

The policy revision now allows troopers to have tattoos on their biceps and forearms. Troopers with tattoos in those areas will now be required to wear long sleeves, even in the summer.

Tattoos are not allowed to be visible below the wristline or above the neckline at any time.

Additionally, incoming cadets will have their inked arms reviewed as part of the hiring process.

Tattoos that could be interpreted as supporting racial, gender, or ethnic hatred or intolerance are not permitted.
