Mars Area High School senior Sarah Hooper was named a semifinalist in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Hooper placed among the top 16,000 high school students, who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

All semifinalists are eligible to advance to the level of finalist, at which they may be considered for a 2022 National Merit Scholarship.

FINDLAY, Ohio — Lena Coyne of Cranberry Township has been named to University of Findlay's Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Hunt Seat Team for 2021-22.

The University of Findlay's Hunt Seat IHSA team has become one of the top equestrian teams in the country. Riders are judged on hunt seat equitation over fences and/or on the flat.

As a member of Findlay's IHSA team, students learn teamwork, time management and how to be successful riders who produce winning rides.
