A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed while walking on Route 28 in Armstrong County shortly after midnight Sunday, Nov. 1, according to state police in Kittanning.

Charles E. Goodman, 41, of Rimersburg, was deceased when emergency services arrived at the crash reported at 12:15 a.m. between exits 18 and 19 on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township. The crash was about 1,500 feet south of Freeport Road.

Police said Goodman was walking in the travel lanes when he was struck by a Buick Enclave driven by Heather S. Mann, 59, of New Bethlehem. Mann possibly sustained an injury but was not transported, police said.

Kittanning Hose Company #6 EMS also responded.
