Boozel announces 2027 run for reelection as county commissioner
Butler County Commissioner Kevin Boozel officially announced Friday, Nov. 6, that he intends to run for a fourth four-year term in the 2027 election.
Boozel, a Democrat, was first elected in 2015, when he achieved the third-highest total out of four candidates on the ballot. He was subsequently reelected in 2019 and 2023.
According to a news release, Boozel’s priorities for a next term if elected would be to acquire grant funding to complete the Gateway 228 improvement project, as well as improvements to infrastructure and emergency services across Butler County.
During his time as a commissioner, Boozel played a key part in establishing an EMS training program at Butler County Community College.
In addition to serving as a county commissioner, Boozel also serves on the Pennsylvania Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust and Pennsylvania’s Geospatial Coordinating Board.
“Serving Butler County is an honor and a responsibility I take personally,” Boozel said in a news release. “I’m running to keep delivering practical results: dependable emergency services, infrastructure that supports good jobs and responsible stewardship of the dollars residents entrust to us.”
