OmniTech chief to talk to U.S. House

WASHINGTON — A co-owner of OmniTech Partners of Freeport will testify Wednesday before the House Committee on Small Business at a hearing titled "Heroes of Small Business."

U.S. Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper, D-3rd, asked the company to attend the hearing as part of National Small Business Week.

During the hearing, entrepreneurs from across the country will testify on their small business success stories.

Gene Pochapsky, co-owner and vice president of OmniTech, will talk to the committee.

"OmniTech Partners is a small high-tech firm that is working to grow and develop their business in a very difficult economic climate," said Chairwoman Dahlkemper. "Their testimony will provide valuable insight into how the Small Business Committee can help entrepreneurs create the good paying jobs that stay here in the United States."

Paul Maxin, president of OmniTech, said, "We have to level the playing field for the little guy. From skyrocketing health care costs to the difficulties navigating the federal acquisition system, small high-tech firms need more support to overcome the challenges we face to create jobs in the region."

OmniTech employs 65 full-time and 3 part-time employees.
