Warehouse to be built at gas station location

A warehouse for Troy J. Grossman Inc., a Slippery Rock construction company, will be built at this site along Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township. The former station building will be used as an office.

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP. — A Gulf gas station that closed four years ago will become the site of a warehouse for Troy J. Grossman Inc., a Slippery Rock construction company.

Grossman bought the property at an estate sale in March and started cleaning it up Monday.

The station building, which is on Route 173 near Etna Road, will be used as an office while a warehouse will be built next to it. Equipment for his business will be stored there, Grossman said.

On Monday, all of the former gas tanks were removed and Grossman's crew continues to remove excess debris and scraps.

Grossman hopes to break ground in about a month to begin building. Garage stalls also will be built at the property.

Grossman, who grew up in the area, still lives in the township and also owns Grossman Apartments. This will be his second office for the construction company in Slippery Rock.

"It's all about location, location, location," Grossman said. "It's exposure. Once we get a sign out, we'll get a lot more work."

Troy J. Grossman Inc. is a general contractor focusing on commercial restoration.
