I am not defending the actions of anyone at the days inn..just trying to clarify a few things I know to be true.

1.) There was no bartender involved, the conflict was between the bar mgr & the patron

2.) No one went out to watch the fight..from what the news coverage is saying, it was a very short conflict "only two or three punches"

3.) the Bar Mgr and the "victim" were friends..I don't know Mr. Speidel, but it doesn't appear he was trying to cover up a crime, it appears he was trying to not get EITHER party in trouble ...things like this happen all the time ... 2 friends get in a fight and are laughing about it the next day.

4.)Speidel is being charged with hindering apprehension..which means he delayed the arrest of the bar mgr...the police claim they could have arrested him that night, however after they knew he did it, they did not arrest him for nearly a month.

Again, no one deserves to go through what the victim has gone through and things could have been handled differently, but at what point does this "victim" begin to take responsibility for his actions?
