Betty Sheakley
Betty Sheakley, 83, of Butler died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Concordia Lutheran Care, Cabot.
Born May 29, 1923, in Butler, she was the daughter of John Eugene Hughes and Pearl Nellie Stokes.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Sheakley as a 50-year member of the Nixon United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school.
She was a life member of the Oak Hills Garden Club and enjoyed bird watching and cooking.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Russell Bachman of Butler; a son, Allen E. Sheakley of Butler; and two grandsons and their wives, R. Eric and Cindy Bachman of Pittsburgh and J. Mark and Lesley Bachman of Butler.
She also is survived by two sisters, Olive Grace Wygant of Franklin and Blanche L. Mitchell and her husband, James, of Genesee in Potter County and Lake Wales, Fla; a brother and his wife, Carl Dale and Barb Hughes of Butler; six nephews; three nieces, and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen D. Sheakley, who died Dec. 22, 1986, and by a brother, Donald J. Hughes.

North St. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Nixon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Merritt officiating.
