Mikolas

Mary C. Mikolas, 94, of Springdale, Allegheny County, died Thursday at The Willows of the Presbyterian Senior Care, Oakmont.

Born Dec. 20, 1912, in Natrona, she was the daughter of John and Cecelia Belco Tabacek and was a lifelong resident of the area.

She was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church in Springdale.

Mrs. Mikolas had worked at Scaife's during World War II and was involved with the Lower Valley Meals on Wheels for 20 years.

She enjoyed gardening and always had her yard filled with beautiful flowers

Surviving are two sons, Edward (Georgina) Mikolas and Robert Mikolas, both of Cabot; a daughter, Frances Mikolas of Lower Burrell; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a half- brother, Thomas Tabacek of Georgia, and a stepbrother, Edward Tabacek of Cheswick

She was preceded in death by her husband Steve J. Mikolas; six brothers, Steve, Martin, Joseph, Clem, John and Andrew Tabacek; a sister, Ann Dolny, and her stepmother, Mary Tabacek.

<B>MIKOLAS </B>— Friends of Mary C. Mikolas, who died Thursday, March 15, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Charles B. Jarvie Funeral Home</B>, 801 Pittsburgh St., Springdale. A Christian funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church with the Rev.
