Woman pleads guilty to sex with boy
A Valencia woman charged with having a three-year sexual relationship with a boy that began when he was 12 pleaded guilty to two felony charges in Butler County Court on Wednesday.
Jennifer Shick, 46, pleaded guilty to two counts of felony statutory sexual assault before Judge William Shaffer.
The plea agreement calls a sentence of 15 to 30 months, which may be served in Butler County Prison; followed by an Intermediate Punishment sentence established by the judge at the time of sentencing, with the first 12 months served on house arrest with electronic monitoring; as well as probation, fines, court costs and community service.
Shick will undergo a state Sexual Offenders Assessment Board evaluation, which must occur within the next 90 days, and sentencing will be scheduled when that is completed.
She also will be required to register as a sex offender for life, as part of the plea.
Shick was initially charged with six counts each of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, child endangerment and corruption of minors stemming from the alleged sexual contact that occurred between 2011 and 2014, mostly in Middlesex Township.
Middlesex Township police filed the charges after the boy reported that, beginning in June 2011, Shick would perform sex acts on him. That eventually progressed to sexual intercourse more than 100 times, occurring two or three times a week, according to court documents.
The boy told police that the incidents continued until he was 15.
Shick remains free on $75,000 bail pending sentencing.
