Margarete 'Hilde' Ahlbrecht

Margarete "Hilde" Ahlbrecht, 82, of Zelienople died Monday at Ellwood City Hospital.

Born Sept. 8, 1924, in Germany, she was the daughter of Heinrich and Paula Michel.

She met her future husband, Elmer, in 1947, while he was serving in the U.S Army during World War II. However, they were not permitted to marry in the United States until 1955 when a German citizen was granted the right to marry an American citizen.

Mrs. Ahlbrecht loved music and flowers and enjoyed spending time with her friends.

She is survived by two sisters, Paula Tutino of Corning, N.Y., and Else Greb of Little Rock, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer G. Ahlbrecht, who died Sept. 3, 1987, and a brother.

<B>AHLBRECHT</B> — Friends of Margarete "Hilde" Ahlbrecht, who died Monday, June 11, 2007, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home</B>, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, where funeral services will follow at noon. The Rev. Patrick McElroy, pastor of the Park United Presbyterian Church of Zelienople, will officiate.
