Charles "Butch" Myers, 55, of Sarver died Monday at the ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.

Born July 30, 1951, in New Kensington, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Ann Leasure Myers.

He was a coal miner at the New Field Mine from 1972 until 1984. He also was a home delivery carrier for the Valley News and the Butler Eagle. He was a member of the United Mine Workers.

Mr. Myers enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Steelers fan.

He was a devout Christian.

Surviving are his wife, Terrie Wolbert Myers, whom he married Nov. 25, 2002; two sons, Joseph M. (Renee) Myers of Apollo and Charles J. (Lisa) Myers of Shaler; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Melissa) Benzinger of Cabot; a stepson, Austin Shook of Sarver; a stepdaughter, Lisa Richardson and her fiancé, Russell Smith, of Arnold; and six grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Liam, Ava, Russell and Parris. He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. James (Joanne) Huybrecht of Rural Ridge and Mrs. Richard (Emma) Solomon of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two brothers, David (Marylou) Robertson of Hampton, Va., and Harry (Florence) Robertson of Leechburg, and his mother-in-law, Doris Pajerski of Sarver.

Preceding him in death was a nephew, Brian Myers.
