James D. Mahlmeister

James D. Mahlmeister, 62, of East Butler died at 3:15 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 12, 1944, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Herbert and Mary Ernst Mahlmeister.

He served in the National Guard for 34 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 249 in Butler.

Mr. Mahlmeister enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and camping.

Surviving are his five daughters, Judy Bush of Natrona Heights, Jackie Keefer of East Butler, Donna Martin of Butler, Tanya Card of Butler and Anna Herman of Butler; three sons, Jamie Mahlmeister of Springdale, Eugene Keefer of Butler and Marty Martin of Butler; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Smith of Pymatuning and Joyce Smith of North Versailles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Smith Mahlmeister, who died Aug. 7, 2001; a sister, and two brothers.

<B>MAHLMEISTER — </B>Friends of James D. Mahlmeister, who died Friday, July 13, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B> in Butler. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
