Helen Mae Davis, 90, of Kelly Boulevard in Slippery Rock died Wedn-esday morning at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh,

Born June 14, 1917, in New Castle, she was the daughter of William Lapinsky, nee Wasyl Lapicke, and Anna Szczurku.

She was a member of the Slippery Rock Women's Club, the Grove City White Shrine of Jerusalem 53 and the Grove City Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 86. She also held various offices in the early years of the Slippery Rock AARP.

She was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church and belonged to the women's association of the Center Presbyterian Church and the women's association of the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Princeton,Lawrence County.

She is survived by her husband, John N. Davis, whom she married July 30, 1936; a daughter, Sally M. Davis of Euclid, Ohio; a son, John A. Davis of Slippery Rock; and a brother, Michael Lapinsky of Indiana, Pa.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, John and Emil Lapinsky; and a sister, Jane Nelson.

<B>DAVIS </B>— Friends of Helen Mae Davis, who died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David McCabe, her church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Princeton.An Eastern Star service will be held at 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.There will be a White Shrine service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Center Presbyterian Church, 211 Center St, Slippery Rock, PA 16057 and should be directed for church community service in her name.
