Barbara Jayne Layton, 53, went home to be with the Lord on Friday surrounded by family and friends.

She was a long time resident of the Vincentian Home in the North Hills and was known to everyone as a cheerful and compassionate friend.

Barbara was grateful for the outstanding care she received from everyone at Vincentian.

She was the daughter of Virginia P. Layton and the late Bernard R. Layton. She also is survived by a sister, Joy Layton Bray and her husband, Dr. John P. Bray, of Butler
