DONEGAL TWP — A man in his 50s suffered nonlife-threatening injuries when the motorcycle he was driving struck and killed a deer on Chicora Road in Donegal Township shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

State police said the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling west in the 1100 block of the road when it hit the deer head-on.

The operator suffered scrapes from sliding on the road after the bike fell. He was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital by Chicora Ambulance Service, police said. The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
