Martha J. Foehringer, 77, of Monaca, formerly of Zelienople, died Sunday evening at The Medical Center, Beaver.

Born Oct. 8, 1930, in Zelienople, she was a daughter of Charles and Bertha Kradel Hartzel.

Schooled in Zelienople, she was a 1948 high school graduate; and in her youth, she was a waitress at the Kaufmann House restaurant.

Mrs. Foehringer was a resident of Monaca since 1948 and was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, Monaca. She had been a Girl Scout assistant leader during the early 1960s.

She leaves two children, Barbara Foehringer Lash and Jeffrey J. Foehringer, both of Monaca; two grandsons, Matthew Lash of New Brighton and Michael Lash of Monaca; several nieces and nephews; and three cousins, Erla Bernd, Shirley Beighey and Howard Kugel.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John D. Foehringer, who died in 1994; an infant brother, Eugene Hartzel; and a son-in-law, David Lash, who died in 2005.

Foehringer, who died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services</B>, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, 724-728-4000, where relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday with her pastor, the Rev. Mark Groves, officiating.
