James Donald Dewitt of Wilkins Township, formerly of Wilkinsburg, died Tuesday.

He was born March 9, 1924.

He worked for the Port Authority of Allegheny County for 38 years and retired in January 1985.

He was the beloved husband of Thelma A. (O'Kane) Dewitt of Wilkins Township; father of James G. Dewitt (Patricia), Geraldyne O'Kane, the Rev. David Dewitt, Diane Dewitt, Robert Dewitt, Nancy Dewitt and Janice Dewitt; grandfather of four; great-grandfather of eight.

<B>DEWITT </B>— Friends of James Donald Dewitt, who died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME</B>, 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Church, 718 Franklin Ave., Wilkinsburg.
