Betty J. Barber
Betty J. Barber, 83, of Pittsburgh Road, Harrisville, died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday at her residence.
Born in Harrisville, May 28, 1925, she was the daughter of Maynard O. Fix and Edith R. (Horton) Fix.
She ran Betty's Concession Stand, and she co-owned with her husband the Barber Tire Co. of Harrisville.
Mrs. Barber was a Protestant. She enjoyed birdwatching, fishing and baking pies.
Her husband, John R. Barber Jr., who she married April 12, 1955, died July 31, 2007.
Surviving are three sons, R. Gordon McNany of North Kingsville, Ohio, Glenn L. McNany and his wife, Audrey, of Salem, Ohio and Ray Barber Jr. and his wife, Delores, of Vineland, N.J.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dessie L. Baker and her husband, Eugene, of Harrisville; and a brother, Sherrell Fix and his wife, Mary, of Hilliards.
In addition to her parents, two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
<B>BARBER</B> — Friends of Betty J. Barber, who died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. C. Kenton Shaw of Wayside Community Church in Mercer officiating. Burial will be at the Findley Cemetery, Mercer.
