Vaughn R. Scudder Jr., 58, of Kaufman Drive, Butler, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Butler Memorial Hospital after battling cancer for 4Z\x years.

Born Aug. 31, 1951, in Butler, he was the son of the late Vaughn R. Scudder and Evelyn P. James Scudder.

Mr. Scudder was a Protestant.

He was a self-employed construction worker who retired in November 2005.

Mr. Scudder enjoyed building model cars and working on vehicles.

Mr. Scudder Jr. is survived by two sisters, Joyce Dlubak of Stoneboro and Gloria White and her husband, Richard, of Butler; nine nieces; and two nephews.

Mr. Scudder was preceded in death by one nephew.
