Janet I. Hancock, 77, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 26, 1948, in Butler, the daughter of the late Clair and Ruth (Brown) Biddle.

She was a childcare teacher at Butler County Children’s Center after receiving her bachelor’s degree from Waynesburg College. She attended First Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and puzzles.

Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly Miller and her children, Ryanne and Matthew, of Butler; two sons, Robert (Sharon) Hancock and their children, Emma, Alex, Lily, Julia, Kayla and Violet, of Corning, N.Y., and John (Kendra) Hancock and their son, Lukas, of Kittanning; three sisters, Dorothy (Don) Wallace, of Slippery Rock, Pauline (John) Lee, of Marietta, Ohio, and Marilyn (Andy) Clarke, of Taylors, S.C.; and her two brothers, Edward (Barb) Biddle, of West Sunbury, and James (Terri) Biddle, of Hanover, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna.

HANCOCK — Friends of Janet I. Hancock, who died Wednesday, July 15, 2026, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 20, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with Lay Pastor Ginger DiTullio, of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven, Worthington.
