Beale Sr.

Robert E. Beale Sr., 89, of Richland Township passed peacefully Wednesday.

He was born in New York City, Dec. 26, 1921, to the late William Oliver and Norine (Hancock) Beale. He was one of 10 children.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rose A. (Eisinger) Beale, who he married July 9, 1948, and who died Aug. 11, 2003. He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Beale, and eight brothers and sisters.

Mr. Beale proudly served in the Air Force during World War II. Anyone who knew him knew he had a story about the war and being on the islands of Okinawa and Iwo Jima.

After a 25-year career at Koppers Co. in New York and Pittsburgh, he retired in 1976. He continued his career with Schnieder Inc. until 1986 and finished his career with Viking Meritek, where they were instrumental in bringing the submarine to the Carnegie Science Center. The remainder of his “career,” and his great love, was fishing.

He is survived by his children, Robert E. (Beth) Beale Jr. of Richland Township, Vicki (Dave) Yon of Butler, George (Chris) Beale of Colorado and Patty (Wade) Krick of Richland Township. He was the brother of Frank Beale of Florida; proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, Carisa, Kevin, Jen, Kristen, Katie, Nicole, Abby and Matthew; and great-grandfather of Jaycob, Layla, and Henry.

<B>BEALE</B> — The family of Robert E. Beale Sr., who died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, will welcome friends to a celebration of Robert's life Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
