Joyce B. Davis, 79, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 16, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Joyce was born Aug. 21, 1947, in Butler, a daughter of the late Ralph Mahoney and Helen Grossman Mahoney. She came to Girard, Ohio, in 1976, and made the Mahoning Valley her home for many years.

She was a graduate of Butler High School and continued her education at New Castle Business College.

Joyce devoted much of her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home for those she loved. A dedicated wife and mother, she also worked for Girard City Schools as a lunch lady, where she enjoyed being a familiar face to generations of students.

Joyce was a member of Christ Community Chapel in Hudson. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and decorating her home, and had a special interest in researching her family’s ancestry. Above all, Joyce treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her tremendous pride and joy.

Joyce leaves to forever cherish her memory her two sons, Sean (Julie) Davis, of Cortland, Ohio, and Greg (Susan) Davis, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; five grandchildren, Emily (Robert) Seidler, of Brunswick, Ohio, Jake (Shelva) Davis, of Howland, Ohio, Lauren Davis (Noah Bishop), of Westerville, Ohio, Emma (Braydon) Kosley, of Twinsburg, Ohio, and William Davis, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Jaycee and Caden; her sister, Amy Bruno, of Branchton, Pa.; and many extended family members.

Her husband of 34 years, William D. Davis, whom she married Jan. 12, 1967, passed away Dec. 9, 2000.

Two sisters, Karen Fisher and Susan Smochek, also preceded Joyce in death.

Joyce’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Patriot Hospice team, especially Cassie, Heidi, Kim and Jake, for the kindness, compassion and exceptional care they provided to Joyce and her family.

DAVIS — In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held for Joyce B. Davis, who died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Patriot Cares, 986 Tibbetts Wick Road, Girard, OH 44420, in Joyce’s memory.
